I spent over a year looking forward to Jess & Bob’s wedding day.
From the first time we chatted on a video call (geographical challenges made meeting in person a no go….Sweden is a fair way to go for a meeting!) we clicked immediately and I knew it was going to be a stunner of a day….yep, they didn’t disappoint!
I love to shoot at new places and venues, so a cheeky 100 mile jaunt down the road to a b&b the night before was right up my street.
My day started at Jess’ family home for bridal prep, breakfast, and bubbles (a photographer’s dream ;p)
Then it was time for bridal party to jump into the open back Landrover to head to St Edmund’s church in Lytchgate Green, the pre 11th century architecture set off by the Hellebore & Rose floral displays throughout. Every pew was rammed with family and friends and not a dry eye in the house. After, the guests were sent off the start celebrating at the reception venue, while I went with J&B to a special beach that they regularly visit to grab a few more memories by the sea.
Chidham Barn was our final spot for eats, drinks and be merry-ness. Surrounded by acres of wheat fields and nothing but peace and tranquility, this stone barn was the perfect venue to spend the afternoon and party the night away. The staff were awesome, so attentive and making sure the day felt as special as it was. Croquet, drinks, chilling, and laughs all round saw everyone up to the wedding breakfast and some absolute quality speeches. The fire pits got lit as the barn was turned round ready for the ‘cake’ cut (it was a stack of cheese wheels which is my idea of lactose heaven) and a Turkish tradition of giving gold and money to the newlyweds.
And then time to take that peace and tranquility and flip it on its head….the party to rock all parties! An unconventional, but bloody awesome, first dance of Gimmee Gimmee Gimmee by ABBA, and a band (19 Forever) that kept that dance floor filled to capacity til the night was through. The best photos are taken when you’re throwing shapes with the rest!
